Yards Bewing Company

We like to think Cape of Good Hope as our "happy accident."

Once when brewing Yards IPA, we dry-hopped it incorrectly. Instead of dumping the batch, we finished brewing and ended up loving it. Thus, the first batch of Cape was born.

This year's batch of Cape is bursting with big hop flavors like citrus, mango, melon and pine.

The 2017 hop selection includes Chinook, El Dorado, Citra, Azacca, Simcoe, Cascade and whole flower Columbus.

Cape of Good Hope goes by another name around the brewery...

Kehoe's Kryptonite.

Make the World Better Beer

We’ve partnered with Connor Barwin and his Make the World Better Foundation to help bring communities together right here in Philly. The Make the World Better Foundation is dedicated to empowering neighborhoods to connect through building community hubs, safe playgrounds, and gardens for local residents to gather, get to know each other, and enjoy themselves. To help Make the World Better Foundation continue to make a positive difference in Philly, we’ve crafted a special brew called Make the World Better Beer, a well-balanced Purl-style Ale brewed with rye malt and orange peel, with a portion of sales to be donated to the Foundation.

“When we were thinking about what would make sense for this collaboration, I thought of a Purl right away. It’s not flashy. It’s not another in-your-face IPA. Purl is the working man’s beer. It symbolizes hard work - the kind of hard work that builds strong communities, just like Barwin’s foundation has been doing right here in Philly.” -Tom Kehoe, Yards founder and brewmaster

Make the World Better Beer will be on tap at the following locations:
